The Norwegian Ministry of Energy has approved a one-year delay for the development of the Sørlige Nordsjø II offshore wind farm. According to Splash 247, the deadline for Ventyr to finalize its impact studies and file for a license has moved to October 15, 2027. This extension was requested to address technical challenges regarding how the 1.5GW project will connect to the onshore power grid. Ventyr, a partnership involving Ingka Investments and JERA Nex BP, is exploring a new land connection near an Alcoa aluminum facility at Lista. The consortium seeks to evaluate whether sharing power infrastructure with the industrial plant is a viable alternative to previous plans. The ministry noted that the extra time is necessary to ensure all technical and environmental permits for this modified route are thoroughly reviewed. The venture originally secured the rights to the site during Norway's inaugural commercial wind auction in early 2024. While the project is intended to provide electricity for half a million homes, it is currently unknown if this regulatory delay will impact the goal of starting operations by 2030. The ministry stated the extension was granted specifically to "allow time to investigate the alternative route" for the subsea cables.

Európa téli energiaválságra készül, mivel alacsonyak a gázkészletek
