Ukrainian military authorities reported overnight strikes against energy infrastructure in the Krasnodar and Caspian Sea regions. According to Rigzone, the Afipsky refinery and the Astrakhan gas-processing plant were the primary targets in this latest wave of aerial attacks. Local officials in Krasnodar confirmed that a fire broke out at the Afipsky site, which also resulted in damage to nearby residential structures and a railway station.

Kyiv claims the operation successfully damaged gas-separation components at the Astrakhan facility, though the site's owner, Gazprom, has not yet issued a formal response. Satellite data provided by NASA detected heat signatures at both locations, potentially corroborating reports of active fires. These strikes follow a pattern of summer engagements that have reduced Russian oil-processing volumes to levels not seen in several years.

The ongoing pressure on energy facilities has led to domestic supply strains and fuel rationing in certain Russian territories. To stabilize internal markets, Moscow implemented a temporary prohibition on the export of various petroleum products, including gasoline and jet fuel. Officials are currently debating whether to prolong existing restrictions on diesel shipments as the government manages localized shortages resulting from the infrastructure damage.
