RSGT And CMA CGM Announce USD 434 Million Initial Investment (SAR 1.6 Billion) To Develop Terminal 4 And Add Up To 2.6 Million TEUs Of Capacity At Jeddah Islamic Port
Red Sea Gateway Terminal and CMA CGM Group form a partnership to build a major new container facility at Jeddah Islamic Port through a $434 million foreign direct investment.

Red Sea Gateway Terminal and the CMA CGM Group have finalized agreements to build and manage Terminal 4 at Jeddah Islamic Port. According to reports from Hellenic Shipping News, the project involves an initial capital injection of roughly $434 million. The deal, which was formalized during a diplomatic summit in Paris, represents one of the largest foreign direct investments ever secured for the maritime industry in Saudi Arabia.
The planned infrastructure will increase the port's annual handling capacity by as much as 2.6 million TEUs. The development plans include the construction of new deep-water berths specifically designed to host the largest container ships currently in operation. The facility will be outfitted with ten ship-to-shore cranes and modern terminal technologies to improve the speed and reliability of local cargo flows.
This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Saudi Ports Authority, intended to support the Kingdom's broader goals for national transport and logistics expansion. The project aims to improve the efficiency of both export and import supply chains while securing Jeddah's status on major international shipping lanes. The terminal will function as a dedicated container hub located next to the existing RSGT complex.
Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM Group, noted that terminal facilities are evolving into increasingly strategic assets which are "essential to securing our operations" and enhancing trade corridors. The partnership merges the local operational knowledge of RSGT with the global logistics network and terminal management experience of CMA CGM to attract new shipping services to the region.
