Arabian Drilling set to kick off rig ops offshore Oman before quarter-end
The Saudi Arabian drilling contractor has secured a multi-well offshore deal in Oman, marking the company’s latest international expansion within the GCC region.

Arabian Drilling, a major Saudi onshore and offshore contractor, has secured a multi-well contract to operate off the coast of Oman. According to Offshore Energy, the agreement involves drilling two firm wells and includes options for two additional wells. The firm entered this arrangement with Masirah Oil and Northern Offshore, with the financial value estimated at less than five percent of the contractor's total 2025 revenue.
The project marks the first time the company has entered the Omani market, following the conclusion of its prior international offshore task. This deployment is expected to commence before the close of the 2026 third quarter. The move aligns with a broader recovery in the regional offshore sector, as the company recently received permission to reactivate several rigs that had previously been suspended.
Management views this expansion as a critical step in building the firm's regional backlog and long-term earnings potential. Chief Executive Officer Fahad Albani stated that the new agreement in another GCC nation "represents an important milestone in Arabian Drilling’s growth journey." The assignment will conclude once the specific drilling operations at the site are finished.
