Sapphire Gas Solutions, an energy infrastructure provider based in Texas, has finalized the purchase of EDGE LNG from the London private equity group Blue Water Energy. According to Rigzone, the deal incorporates modular liquefaction assets capable of producing 200,000 gallons of LNG every day. These skid-mounted units are currently deployed to serve industrial clients throughout the Southern United States where permanent natural gas pipelines are often unavailable.

The transaction follows the recent acquisition of Sapphire by the French investment firm Antin Infrastructure Partners. This latest expansion is funded through Antin’s Flagship Fund V and aligns with a strategy to address growing energy demands from commercial sectors and data centers. The parent company noted that these mobile solutions provide a resilient alternative to traditional grid infrastructure while supporting carbon reduction goals for large-scale energy consumers.

Chief Executive Sam Thigpen stated that the move allows the company to transition into a fully integrated supplier by managing the entire supply chain from production to end-user delivery. By controlling production assets in two key regions, the company aims to reduce its reliance on third-party providers. This vertical integration is intended to offer greater accountability and flexible production scaling to meet the specific requirements of remote energy markets.
