Strike Averted as Norway Helicopter Workers Agree New Pay Terms
A walkout by Norwegian offshore helicopter crews has been canceled following a late-stage agreement on salaries and medical benefits through 2027.

A potential labor disruption within the Norwegian offshore energy sector has been avoided after helicopter personnel reached a settlement regarding compensation and worker benefits. According to a report by Rigzone, the Styrke union finalized terms with the Federation of Norwegian Aviation Industries following intensive government-mediated talks that extended past the original deadline.
The new labor contract addresses pay scales based on industry benchmarks through 2027 and establishes advance payments for parental and sickness leave starting in three years. Negotiator Christopher Talgø described the seven-hour overtime session as a "demanding process" that ultimately secured a deal for more than 80 workers employed by CHC Helikopter Service, Bristow, and HeliOne.
Elsewhere in Norway, a separate labor standoff involving well service employees remains in a holding pattern. The SAFE union and Offshore Norge have agreed to let a voluntary wage board settle their dispute after a strike and subsequent lockout occurred earlier this summer. A final ruling from the board is currently delayed due to holiday schedules for the involved parties.
