Danish logistics provider Scan Global Logistics has entered into an agreement to purchase OIA Global, a United States-based forwarding firm. According to a report from The Loadstar, the transaction represents the largest investment in the company's history. Once finalized, the merger is anticipated to elevate Scan Global Logistics into the rankings of the top 20 freight forwarding companies globally by expanding its reach in critical international markets.

While the specific financial terms of the deal were not released, the acquisition follows a recent €300 million bond issuance by the Danish firm. The Loadstar also reports that shareholders, led by CVC Capital Partners, contributed an additional €111 million in capital to facilitate the purchase. OIA Global, which has been owned by Lacy Diversified Industries since 2010, reportedly generated $780 million in revenue during the 2023 fiscal year.

The acquisition will integrate OIA Global’s 1,200 employees and its network of 60 offices into the Danish group. Beyond traditional freight forwarding, the deal adds specialized capabilities in packaging solutions, project logistics, and customs brokerage to the combined entity. Chief Executive Allan Melgaard noted that the investment would create a "stronger, more resilient platform" for the organization's future expansion efforts. The transaction is expected to conclude by the first quarter of next year.
