Malta-based commodity trader Alkagesta has established a new $15 million revolving inventory credit facility. According to Ship & Bunker, the agreement was finalized with FIMBank Plc, a financial institution also headquartered in Malta. This latest addition to the firm's financial portfolio brings its total available credit facilities to a valuation exceeding $1 billion, providing the company with significant liquidity to manage its ongoing global trading operations.

The new funding is specifically designated to enhance the company's inventory management strategies. Orkhan Rustamov, the Chief Executive Officer of Alkagesta, noted that the deal represents a major step in promoting Malta's influence within the international energy trade sector. The firm intends to use the capital to improve the reliability of its supply chains while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards in the energy market.

Rustamov stated in a formal announcement that the credit facility serves to support global energy security by strengthening the logistical framework of their business. By securing these additional funds, the company aims to optimize its storage and distribution capabilities. The move highlights a period of financial growth for the trader as it scales its presence in the competitive landscape of physical energy commodity movements.

While the firm continues to expand its financial reach, other developments in the maritime and energy sectors are emerging. Recent industry reports mention efforts by MARAD and Core Power to establish frameworks for nuclear-powered commercial vessels in the United States. Additionally, Aegis Logistics has recently opened a large ammonia storage terminal, and plans are moving forward for a new LNG bunkering site in Galveston scheduled for 2028.
